  1. #1) Devildog is probably my favorite of those you listed

#3) I’d lean towards “Colonel” something… Maybe “Colonel Fallout”? That sounds a little villainous, but I can’t think of anything else.

#4) My favorite among those offered is Anthem. Not much else to say here.

#5) How about Dimension Lord? If you want him to be kind of lame, this allows people to insultingly refer to him as “Dimlord”. Alternately, you could try “Marquis D” for rhyming.

#6) Plutarch would be a pretty cool name.Report

  2. #2 Red Rube… why not force him to say a short poem? Instead of something that can be said in a single second, how’s about a single breath?

“By humans, orcs, gnomes, dwarves and elves… I’ll protect those who can’t protect themselves.”

    WHOOSH

This allows you to name him The D&D Guy or something. It can relate to the poem rather than to something else. The fun part is that you can also put him in a situation where he can’t say a full sentence!

#3 At first I wanted to go with something like Agent Atlas or Agent Polaris because those were also fun missile names. Sadly, they’re already taken. (Well, not with the Agent part.)

So why not “Brinksman”? Or Agent Brinksman?

#4 Brother Jonathan. Anybody Thomas Nast has already drawn for you is going to be awesome.

#5 I just went to the 3D tech websites and found some cool words. “Shutter”, “Flicker”. Add a “Man” to that and you’ve got yourself a hero.

    #6 Yeah, you won’t top Plutarch.Report

  3. Is it going to be set in the 1950’s or later? Because either of the nuclear-themed ones could be named Strange, but that wouldn’t make sense before the discovery of quarks.

I guess the same question applies to the Captain 3D character. Is he set in the 1950’s, or 1950’s-themed? The era had some great slang, which might be an inspiration.Report

    1. It’s set over a long period of time, but they got their starts in the 40’s and 50’s. Some were active for a very long time, some passed on the name to others. But names from slang from that era would be entirely appropriate.Report

  4. This is late, and I don’t know where Bart Hill is from, but Jersey Devil would be a great name for a Daredevil-like character.Report
