  1. I suggest that we not judge a symposium by the traffic numbers, but rather by the quality of its content. This symposium exceeded our standards for quality — lots of interesting ideas, well-articulated and civilly-argued — and was therefore a success.Report

  2. If I were to voice one criticism it would be a very mild one related to the “embarrassment of riches” aspect of this. I find it difficult at times to keep up. In particular, I’ll read a particularly thought-provoking piece on a subject I haven’t previously given much attention to and it may take me a couple days to settle on an opinion, but by then the general focus of attention has moved elsewhere. The comments are still open but far fewer people are still interested. I want people to listen to me dammit! Me, me, me! ;-P

Seriously, though, it’s a good problem to have and just reflects the high quality of submissions. Maybe if I didn’t have a job and stuff I could keep up. But then I couldn’t afford internet so what ya gonna do?Report

      1. There’s a pretty bad bug in the Comments module though. Occasionally it gets caught in a loop, squawking “BSDI!” and “Strawman!” over and over, until you just want to throttle someone.Report

  3. This was the first symposium I actually contributed to, and thanks for the shout-out. I read most of the posts and really enjoyed it, and being a sometime labor historian (tl;dr: we don’t necessarily work, but we study people who do), it was up my alley.Report
