If you want to build a ship sweep the leg.
“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people together to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson, quoting Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will testifying before congress
“Wax on, wax off. Don’t forget to breath!” — Mr. Miagi, The Karate Kid
“Sweep the leg, Johnny.” — The bad sensai, The Karate Kid
Since I’m not sure exactly where you are going with this, I’m going to talk about NASA.
With regards to space travel I feel that President Obama and the Current NASA administrator Charles Bolden have chosen the correct direction. NASA should no longer be in the business of trying to move mass from the surface of this planet into orbit. We having been doing it for over 40 years it is well past time for commercial business to take over. SLS (Space Launch System) is nothing but a government jobs program; NASA should be concentrating on a vehicle that can travel safety between planets.Report
I mostly agree with this.
Let the private market lease rocket-time to the government to get stuff into orbit, when necessary. Most of what goes into orbit nowadays is private satellites anyway.
There is a wrinkle with the sensitive stuff, though.Report
