Hey, everyone: Jon’s back.
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we have a new name on the masthead — or to be more precise, we have an old name that’s returning to it: Jon Rowe.
Jon is such an old-time Leaguer that I think he had come and gone before I even knew this place existed. Like a lot of other folks here, though, I’ve been reading him pretty regularly at his blog American Creation, which, along with CommonPlace, is where I learn most of my early American history these days.
My guess is that you old-timers already know him well. For all you not-so-old-timers, Jon is an attorney and college professor who currently hails from Pennsylvania. More important than that, however, he’s a damn good writer. More important than that, he’s a damn good guy.
I’ll hold off on trying to define him politically and culturally, and let y’all discover that yourselves over time. Those that just can’t wait to decide if he’s on your team or not can feel free to peruse his archive from his League days here, or re-aquaint yourselves with his recent OT guest post here.
Either way, please join me in welcoming Jon back. All of us editors are very excited to have him back.

Glad to hear it. Jon is indirectly how I found myself reading OT. He made a comment at the Volokh conspiracy, and his userid linked to Positive Liberty, from which I eventually found my way here.
Unfortunately, I haven’t read American Creation nearly as much as I should have.Report
Good to have you back.Report

You have been a great Portland ambassador for OT, Tod. If I make my way to PA, you’ll have big shoes to fill, Jon. 😉
