One downside to Republicans’ lack of interest in “new ideas” is that they’ve effectively ceded policy discussions on a host of emerging issues to liberals, which is presumably why this fascinating piece on exurban sprawl has found a home at The American Prospect. The esteemed Joel Kotkin and the good folks are doing a lot of good work on these issues over at Newgeography.com and they come at it from a right-of-center perspective. I believe Ross Douthat is a fan as well.Report

Seems they have a different take at the Frontporch. I just ruined my morning coffee with it. It seems the problem is all the good city planners have moved to the coasts.
