The Westboro Baptist Church decided to picket Comic Con 2010 for some reason. (God probably hates anime.) The cosmic alliance of convention-goers responded by staging a counter-protest across the street with an appropriately high level of silliness. Pictures here. I tip my hat.

@Mike at The Big Stick, I remember watching a news documentary about the Westboro Baptist Church when I was in France and thinking to myself that I’ve probably seen more news reports about the Westboro Baptist Church than there are members of that church! I think the comic book kids have the right idea about whether to take them seriously or not.Report
I enjoyed Lindsay Ellis’s little video report on it. Kinda agreed that they’re hardly even worth counter-protesting (she says there were only four people actually from Westboro), but that it’s a lot of fun anyway.
