The Birth of a (Whiskey) Barrel
Yesterday someone sent me a link to a cool video at Devour. A description from the site:
A look inside Brown-Forman Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky where Jack Daniels, unlike any other major distiller in the world, still make their own wooden aging barrels.
As a Kentuckian I’m not supposed to promote anything related to whiskey and not bourbon, but since I think they both taste like evil and the barrels are made in my hometown I will allow it. Plus this lines up nicely with Kazzy’s bourbon club. Click the picture below to view the video.
Those barrels make good smoke. Mmm-hmm!Report
If anyone demands that I start MAKING bourbon for the club… I’m going to burn this whole place to the ground.Report
I’ve never been all that interested in home brewing, but making my own bourbon . . . that sounds much more interesting. . .Report
That gives me an idea! For the next LeagueFest, Kazzy, do you think you could maybe whip up a batch of bourbon?Report
I will be going to the Cure Bar tonight with my bud Scott. I will ask the mixologist to work me up something wonderful along the bourbon vector, just to see what can be done. I am bringing my camera along, and hope to report the results in due course.Report
