Saturday!
One of the little triumphs of the GTA series is their ability to come up with characters who could understandably do the things that you might do with them in the game. Would Nico rob a bank? Sure, of course. Would Nico drive on the sidewalk? Well… you know… some days are better than others…
Well, in GTA V, I’ve met two protagonists so far and both of them do a great job of communicating deep unhappiness, deep resentment, and are surrounded by friends and family who do nothing to alleviate this. Honestly, the friends and family make it worse.
Which, I suppose, should make it easier to drive on sidewalks if it came to that.
I am, however, asking myself “why am I spending time with these people?” which isn’t a good sign, really… I mean, I understood why I was hanging out with Nico (heck, I even understood why I was hanging with Nico’s cousin). GTA V hasn’t established that quite yet. Perhaps more time will sell me on the concept.
So… what are you playing?
The beginning of that commercial reminds me of this gem.Report
Ha! That is awesome.Report
GTA5 gets much worse. I won’t spoil it but I was quite uncomfortable. Some of the worst characters get a bit better near the endReport
I admit that I really like Michael’s weak attempt to talk it out and be reasonable before you see something snap in his head and he goes bats.
He’s got more willpower than any other character in the game. That’d be an admirable trait if he were a good person.Report
I wish I could be enjoying this. Alas. Family obligations and professional obligations are eating my time. I’ve spare moments here and there for the blog, but starting something as ambitious as GTA5 is out of the question.Report
For what it’s worth, missions are split up into maybe 30 minute chunks…Report
I have never really gotten into the GTA series. Probably because I am crap at playing it.
This weekend I wrapped up Act 2 of Diablo III. I did not experience on the PC, but it has been a lot of fun on the PS3. There are a few issues with targeting, especially when you have a guy who summons more monsters, and you want to target him first. However, for the most part, it plays great and it is easy to hit for short bursts of gaming.Report
I saw a review that pointed out that loot was abundant in the console version and scarce as heck in the PC.
Which, I admit, was tempting…Report
I’ve seen people drive on the sidewalk before. With folks jumping into bushes to avoid the car.
Lot less fun in real life, I suppose.Report
