    1. Of course, there are also more recent studies showing that they do indeed add to congestion and actually take away public transit trips, thus making traffic worse _and_ making the environment worse. Win win!

    2. Of course, whether it reduces congestion or not is beside the point since that justification is transparently nonsense. If congestion is a problem, you use congestion charging, not placing restrictions on a specific set of users.

      This is about what most taxi regulation is about – preserving the state-created oligopoly of taxi licenses.Report
