Saturday!
Though I pronounced it more of a “ee-YO-man acka PEE-side” rather than “Bula vinaka. Beachside.” (Hey, I didn’t have the internet yet.)
Given that this commercial was *EVERYWHERE*, it usually got a laugh from whomever was calling. Now, of course, we don’t get calls from people we want to get calls from, anymore. We get texts. The house phone is mostly a spam device. “Hi, we’ll have a truck in your neighborhood on Wednesday. Do you have any (long list) you’d like to donate?”
You’d think that they’d rather get to the “no” early rather than after the 10 second list they rattle off.
The only other people who call answer to the name “mom”.
And now I’m trying to figure out “when did this happen?”
Anyway, given the fever dreams this week, I’ve not been able to play anything but I did want to ask you:
So… what are you playing?

Minecraft.
I found a large cave nearby. I’ve connected my house to it. (Carefully. Lots of doors, lights, trapdoors and ladders).
I keep getting lost, though. I’ve started punching out arrows to indicate where the exits are. I spent 30 minutes wandering around last time I was down there. Didn’t help that I found an area that was already lit, so I thought I was heading back to my territory when I was really blazing a new path.
Also, set myself on fire getting lava. But now I have a bucket of lava. Not sure what I’m gonna do with that, though.Report
I’m between games right now – waiting for Pillars of Eternity on Friday.Report
I am with you. I finished up Darksiders 2 a couple weeks ago, so I have been killing time on Diablo 3. I do not want to get involved heavily in anything before PoE is released.Report

For me it started between 6-8 years ago. Got a blackberry for work. Started using text as a novelty. Then got told by my SIL that if I wanted to talk to her, I should text her. Then I cancelled the land line when I moved. No one called it. Hell, I got internet phone and the only folks who called it were people looking for the previous users of that line or spamers, so I got rid of that too. Now it’s mostly text and I have to work hard to actually call people. A majority of the women I know use text exclusively, but of course, they think I’m only out for sex if I only text them and don’t call them….after they have told me specifically that they don’t talk on the phone but mainly text..Report

I picked up Sleeping Dogs on sale recently for under 6 bucks. It’ll have to do to scratch any ‘open-world mayhem’ type of itch since I mostly likely won’t be getting GTA 5 until it’s heavily discounted. Maybe the Steam Winter Sale, maybe later.
I find Rockstar’s PC strategy completely baffling. If it makes them more money to significantly delay the PC version (or not release them at all *grumble*grumble*RDR*), why don’t other AAA publishers follow similar behavior? If it doesn’t, why annoy and anger their PC fans? Regardless, it’s clear that even though I tend to enjoy Rockstar’s games, I am simply not their target customer.Report
I found Sleeping Dogs to be surprisingly charming. The gameplay never really rose above “competent” but the characters got me to keep saying “okay, one more… oh, man, I’m going to have to do more sidequests if I want to hear the next speech from the Sensei at the Dojo… and I *REALLY* want to hear the next speech.”Report
I don’t text. Nobody bothers calling me either, but.. eh.Report
