Serious question here, Saul, I want your answer and opinion: What about Texas? It is the eternal "prize" as far as flipping states go, is statistically and demograhically "get-able", yet the money outlays there are just bonkers, between Beto's senate run, and Democrats spent something like $54 million on the Texas Legislature with nothing to show for it, Cruz and Cornyn both survive - the latter handily. You do now have Allen West running the state GOP, IMO a questionable move but we will see. You good with the efforts in Texas and that dream that seems so close but so far away for Team Blue?
I have to actively not just react to everything he does on Twitter, because part of Stelter's raison d'être is to be the media's inner monologue but out loud, so he does crap like this on purpose so he can write about how the right reacts to it. I keep thinking he will grow out of it, as he approaches his middle 30's, but we will see.
The game was sunk as soon as they didn't pay the licensing for the actual actors. I don't know what it would have cost, but it was less than $48 million, and it was worth whatever it was to not take that kind of hit on it.
If you got an honest thought out of Mitch McConnell, his perfect scenario for this election is holding his majority in the Senate, being rid of Trump, and he doesn't care what the house does since losing another dozen seats to the Democrats doesn't change the power balance any.
Whether he is actively working towards that end, I'll leave to other to judge, but will remind you that he is Mitch McConnell.
"A guy I watch in New York City says his Democratic operative friends (many of whom are fundraisers) are seriously worried that Trump will win New York..."
This is asinine even by George Turner commenting standards.
I agree with Chip. There is (meaning broadly, not just our commentating friends here) this automatic, knee-jerk "oh so you want to get us involved in another war" to every single issue of foreign policy that comes up. No, of course we don't want to jump into every single conflict. However, this new strand of hyper-isolationism that has become more prevalent, and is frankly a central tenant of faith to many of our libertarian friends. This situation, like many others, will not be resolved by American military force. What it is, however, is another example of something that while having no good solution to fix now, could have been alleviated if not prevented with a coherent and consistent foreign policy.
The president, by his own admission, has no care and less concern of any global matter that does not present a clear and immediate win for himself. His approach feeds this anathema towards American global influence, and will be an inflection point in global affairs for years to come.
those of you in the federal bureaucracy are like everyone elsewhere: there are many good one, a few bad ones, a bunch in wide spectrum in between, and an unwieldy system that is not above criticism.

Sworn statements obtained outside of a court proceeding are, literally by the definition, hearsay.
