  1. Also, in terms of making a record difficult to listen to: Your move, Flaming Lips. Encase the next one in diamond and shoot it into the sun or something.Report

    1. I guarantee enterprising people are recording counterfeit Wu tracks right now to seed out there as pranks, and maybe even for a quick buck or two, if they can get suckers to pay a nominal fee before they are exposed.Report

  2. I was in a (very) short-lived band once, and we had some ideas of how to do albums. First thought was that we would sell blank tapes, then go to your house, play in your basement and record it on a stereo. Every album would be an original! Of course, sometimes we might get more experimental, but, hey, it’d be an original!

The other idea was to release a Box Set right away, just to be pretentious. That morphed into the idea that we’d release a box set, but each disc would be a different track, so you’d have play all discs at exactly the same time to hear the songs.

We did not take ourselves particularly seriously.Report

Was this before or after Zaireeka? If the Lips ripped your idea off, let’s get ’em!Report
