Heavenly!
Luigi Boccherini, a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart, loved to write string quintets, pieces in which the standard quartet of two violins, viola and cello is augmented by a second cello. His most familiar piece is this minuet, which you’ve probably heard a million times, since it’s become the go-to example of a classical piece that denotes 18th-Century wealth and elegance.
A much better example of what he could do is this impressionistic portrait of Madrid.
