Dragon’s Express dismay as they are taken Down, sending them South of Thunderlips!!
With Eric Decking the Chiefs, Thunderlips wins the game they had to have. Both teams scored well above projections, but Eric Decker and Adam Vinatieri scored more than double their projected amount and gave the Express a tie for the Peak of the Week. Tu talked to the jubilant coach.
Tu: Way to squeak into the playoffs coach.
Dman: Oh yeah! I did it. The Oracle projected me at 13th and out of the Playoffs but here I am.
Tu: Yes, yes, you can stop patting yourself on the back. Are you concerned that you are the underdog for the upcoming matchup?
Dman: Who really thinks Andre Brown is going to score 18 points? I have a good shot at this game.
Tu: Sounds like famous last words to me, coach. You have two bum tide ends and a second string hopeful in their place. Don’t you think that is more likely to blow up in your face than Andre Brown?
Dman: We will have to see, Tu.
Freak of the Week
Acme Packed away the points with Alshon Jeffery scoring the second most points for a wide receiver all year. While the Warriors had Partisan effort from their players with three scoring above their projections and all the rest scoring below. It also did not help the Warriors that they had four players on the bench that scored more than those in play. These missteps caused them to be on the short end of the Freak of the Week.
Reek and Weak of the Week
Brian’s Best Team is best at playing the lowest scoring teams in the league. They had the second lowest score for the week, but played the lowest scoring team in Nine, Ten, and Eleven. Who tried their typical offensive strategy and played only six players for the week. They still came close to beating Brain’s Bust Team who had only one player Best their projected totals.
Bleak of the Week
The final nail the Scorned Intangibles coffin came this week as a loss to Jesus. Proving once and for all the spirit of Tebow is no match for the real thing. Tu caught up to the beleaguered coach.
Tu: {Big crap eating grin} Well, that is that coach. The playoffs have gone the way of Tebow’s football career. What have you to say for yourself?
Jaybird: Well, last year, Tim Tebow got me to the finals. This year, he got me to week 13. Last Year, we were Broncos Tebow, this year, we’re Jets.
Tu: So, next year, you’re going to be the Patriots?
Jaybird: Well, without getting into how good of a year the Patriots have had, I will say that we should just take things one football season at a time. Perhaps Tebow will get a job in the announcer’s booth and we can compare our seasons to him. He can be the next Madden.
Tu: I… don’t even know what we’re talking about anymore.
Jaybird: Just wait until next year.
The Oracle Update:
The Oracle strikes out! It did not get the record of any team correct in the entire league. The Acme Packers win the Annointed Ones label for the year, the Hardly Tried had the greatest fall from grace, and Team Sandcastle wins the Over Achiever title. But how did the Oracle’s ranking do? As one on the outside looking in, I’ll say it was fun and frustrating this season. Definitely going to have to draft better next season, and hope that my players don’t consistently underperform. I did have some hope after game 1, achieving a tie against an opponent who started Peyton Manning and his 7 TD passes. It was mostly downhill from there.Report
