And now for something completely different…
Just shouting out a congratulations to my friend Lesli, who will be published in a new anthology alongside such greats like Gaiman, Bradbury, Poe.
Keep an eye out y’all for: Psychos: Serial Killers, Depraved Madmen, and the Criminally Insane
Due out in October!
-Think monsters are scary? People are scarier-
Hannibal Lector. Norman Bates. Jason. Serial killers are such a staple of popular entertainment that you know them by name. But surprisingly, there has never been a fiction anthology that compiles all of that depravity in one place. Until now.
In “PSYCHOS: Serial Killers, Depraved Madmen, and the Criminally Insane” Skipp offers a single volume collection includes selections from Neil Gaiman, Robert Bloch, Thomas Harris, Ray Bradbury, and Edgar Allen Poe, along with stories from the most promising crop of new authors in the genre.
While there is no dearth of murders, Skipp has not created a collection of one-note slasher stories. in PSYCHOS, Skipp reached out to authors to find stories concerning all types of criminal insanity, from overwhelmed moms, to bullied teens, to repentant ex-cons to post-apocalyptic white supremacists. Resources at the end of the book include lists of the genre’s best long-form fiction, movies, websites, and writers.
Looks like fun. (One of the authors is named William Gay. I had a small brain malfunction and thought one of the psychos might be Mack the Knife.)
Tell Lesli congratulations from me too.Report
