  1. From TFA: “Having thrice consecutively hit water after falling out of his friend’s boat, the 27-year-old’s confidence level is absolutely soaring.”Report

      1. Off topic @burt-likko but: I was hoping for some brief take on the SC ruling on the Notre Dame case contraception, apparently referred back to a lower court with instructions to ref. the HL case; if you (or another attorney in the room) has a few moments to explain. Did they do this own their own or was there some legal proceeding ongoing that spurred the ruling?Report

      2. It was in response to a petition; the entire order reads as follows: “Petition GRANTED. Judgment VACATED and case REMANDED for further consideration in light of Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., 573 U. S. ___ (2014).” Basically, at least Five of the Nine think that Hobby Lobby pretty much completely disposes of the claims in this case. Whether Hobby Lobby was rightly decided or not, and bearing in mind that I haven’t read any of the briefs in the Notre Dame case, I’m suspicious that this is indeed the case, and it’s pretty good news for the Catholic college.Report

      3. Thank you, @burt-likko I gathered it was generally in the College’s favor, but the reporting I could find on it didn’t really make clear why the order was being issued; as if it were coming out of thin air. This didn’t make much sense to me; so I thought I’d ask. Grateful.Report

      1. My assumption has always been that a team that worries more about putting butts in the seats than limping to a 6-10 season would be perfect for Tebow.

        The 49ers?

        Talk about pressure!Report

      2. “A team more worried about putting butts in the seats” may very well describe the current incarnation of San Francisco’s ownership and front office management, of whom I am quite critical.Report
