Preoccupations - Continental Shelf (Official Video)
Despite the post title, I’m really liking the new Viet Cong. I never got deeply into Women (insert joke here), the prior band of a couple of the players here; they had atmosphere, but I could never find the hooks.
This, however, has hooks aplenty, even if many of them are time-tested postpunk ones.
Like the Ronettes-by-way-of-JAMC drumbeat in “Continental Shelf”, up top.

One of my “new music” stations played “Continental Shelf” too much, and it turned me off, but the rest of the album is nice.Report
