Elinor Ostrom…
Her work and life speak for themselves. Rest in peace, dear professor. May we prove equal to your insights.

We have been experiencing problems.
Very sad indeed. Elinor Ostrom was one of the greatest thinkers of our era.Report
A true loss to be sure.Report
I missed this post, and I just found out from a friend today that she died. I am heartbroken. Perhaps I’ll write a guest post honoring her. She was tremendously kind to both my wife and me while I was a post-doc at her research institute.Report
Please do. I know we’ve had discussions about Ostrom before over at your site, and I think a nice discussion here would honor her memory.Report
I’ve written a draft, but it’s threatening to become unwieldy. Part of me wants to focus on my personal impressions of her, part of me wants to just focus on her research. I’m open to suggestions.
(But I’ll be at a swim meet tomorrow, so at best it won’t be done for a couple of days.)Report
Have both, sandwich style, and try to tie them together like a fugue. My two cents.Report
