Leaugefest 2012: Reservation Information
Arrangements for Leaguefest 2012 are moving forward. Please follow the jump for information about accessing the group rate for rooms at the gabulous LVH Hotel (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28, 2012.
We have a block of twelve rooms set aside. You may select either the Premium room at $79 a night, or the Deluxe Club Room for $50 a night extra. Both rates are subject to, among other things, 12% the Clark County room tax. These are double-occupancy rates; if there will be a third person in the room there is an extra $35 per night charge. Now, by “Premium” room, they really mean “regular” room; by “Deluxe Club” room that means one with an upgraded TV, a couple of swanky bathrobes, and access to the VIP lounge on one of the upper floors, which includes a complimentary power breakfast, light snacks and cookies for lunch, and a wine and cheese reception, and a few other perks.
To make your reservations, call (800) 635-7711 and advise that you are registering for “The League of Ordinary Gentlemen.” If there is a problem with that, you can also try group reservations code “SGGCM2″. The group rate is guaranteed through April 25, 2012.
Friday night, we’ll congregate after arrival and settling-in at the Space Quest Bar on a come-as-you-wish basis. Then Saturday night, we’ll meet at 6:00 p.m. for dinner at one of the hotel’s four restaurants. In my last poll, it seemed that the steakhouse, Italian, and Japanese options were all about equally popular; there is also a Chinese restaurant as well but that didn’t seem to be anyone’s first choice. I’m thinking the steakhouse myself; there are vegetarian and non-beef options there for those who aren’t looking for a big-ass steak — so unless I get a sense of a consensus around one of the other options by the end of the month, I’ll make that reservation also.
I’m looking forward to this!
So wish I could attend.Report
