Glyph is worse than some and better than others. He believes that life is just one damned thing after another, that only pop music can save us now, and that mercy is the mark of a great man (but he's just all right). Nothing he writes here should be taken as an indication that he knows anything about anything.

Good show. I thought it was funny the host twice asked them if they would play some songs. Well thats what they are there to do, so i’m guessing the answer will be yes.Report
For such fractured, layered, chaotic music, I thought they did a remarkable job playing it live.Report
Hey, when I saw the title of this I thought Philadelphia and Dayman!
I had never listened to these guys before, thanks for introducing them. A nice break from my Old Sad Bastard music.

When I heard these guys, I thought of you, and then thought “I am sure he has heard them” and then “but if he hasn’t he needs to..”Report
Ah, yeah, I linked that a while back. They are pretty intense, and tight. I like how the bassist is off in her own chillin’ world, chewin’ gum.Report
Ah, must have missed it. And you are right about the bassist, all that and killer grooves.Report
I listened to Sea Went Absent a lot last year. I don’t think I’d really listened to them before that.
Also, I was thinking of doing a similar post on KCRW, which gets a lot of good artists as well. E.g.,

For whatever reason I think I forgot they had one out and didn’t listen to it until December. Then I made up for lost time!

Which reminds me, have you heard the TV on the Radio album that came out in December?Report
You know, I got it, listened to it exactly once, and couldn’t tell you a thing about it. I really like some of their stuff (the Young Liars EP and Cookie Mountain in particular), other stuff just slides right by me without much impact (Nine Types, most of Dear Science except for “Family Tree”).Report
Happy Idiot is actually getting a lot of airplay out here.Report
