Saturday!
So, of all of the dwarves I could have woken up this morning, I decided to wake up Sneezy. This is normally something unrelated to gaming, if not unremarkable entirely, except for the fact that I was playing a 3DS and the cone of area in front of one’s sneeze occupied by a handheld is much larger than when one is playing, say, a PS3.
One detail job later, I am back to exploring the whole “surely you jest” pile of games from the Gamestop. They have sub-fiver games in little envelopes up by the register and while many of them make perfect sense to be there (there was, apparently, a hamster boom a couple of years ago that bled into video gaming) but there are a handful of games that make you ask “why in the world is *THIS* game in there?”
Before finding that the answer was “you paid two-ninety-nine for this and you *STILL* got ripped off.” In any case, Zenses: Rainforest is *NOT* a zen meditation assistant but peg solitaire. I suppose one could argue that peg solitaire is a zen meditation assistant but one would be stretching.
There was a “logic machines” game for four bucks that is a “create your own Rube Goldberg machine” game that, as these things go, could get you through a plane ride.
Oh, and I found a $20 game (woop woop!) in there for 8 bucks. “I was wondering when someone would find that”, the guy behind the counter said. Professor Layton, here I come!
So… what are you playing?
Still not allowed to play GTA5. Mrs. Likko observes my level of aggression, anger, and frustration rise after a single session.Report
I played that Fables Game – Wolf Among Us. Jaybird didn’t warn me that it’s only the first chapter! (Which is to say, it was the bomb. but watch out, it ends on a cliffhanger.)Report
Rocksmith 2014. Picked it up during the recent Steam sale and then bought a guitar. I have no prior skill in any musical instruments.
I’ve only been playing in earnest for a few days, and I already feel like it has great potential. They start you off playing occassional notes in a particular song, then add more as your abilities improve. It will take some time before I able to move my hand up and down the fretboard and place my fingers confidently and without looking, but I’ve made significant improvement from my first attempt.
At any rate, it’s still fun and I’ll likely stick with it for a while longer, even if my fingertips are tender from the lack of calluses.Report
