  1. I finally bought Skyrim since the Legendary edition dropped down to $20 in the recent Steam sale. I keep getting slaughtered by wandering into situations that I’m woefully unprepared for. I’m so used to the smooth progression enforced by most modern games that I forgot that that used to be par for the course.

Also, going back to this combat system after Amalur just makes me sad.Report

  2. I spent some time playing DDO. I have one character at level 10, which is midlevel, and I started playing through the Vault of Night adventure pack. A friend said it was really good, and he was right. There are a variety of adventures, including an arena fight, a journey into someone’s mind, and trying to rescue someone who is being pursued by an Inevitable. I have not finished the whole thing, but so far it has been challenging and exciting.

I also spent some time playing through the Attitude Era mode of WWE 13, and I finished up the Rise of Degeneration X storyline, with the exception of some bonus matches that I need to unlock. Considering I watched WCW with my dad at the time, I like getting caught up on the WWE stuff that I missed.Report

  3. XCOM: Enemy Within. All my Meld misgivings went away the first time I deployed a MEC trooper and he used Kinetic Strike to one-shot a Muton, sending his body flying rag-doll fasion down the train platform. Now I chase Meld canisters like a dog chasing squirrels.Report
