Dux Synthetic Standing Rigging Approved for S/V MON TIKI
The word just came down from the commander of Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound that we have approval to use textile rigging in place of stainless steel on S/V MON TIKI. Dux is stronger, lighter, more inspect-able, more fabricate-able, and non-corrosive. But it’s new, and this is first time Dux has been approved for use on a USCG certificated sailing vessel, adding to MON TIKI’s growing list of technical and material innovations and regulatory firsts.
More soon on innovation and regulation. For now I’m going to have a beer!
Heh. They use Dux around here for log hauling.Report
