LOL. My daughter bought tickets to what she calculated might be loss 121. They got to 120 the game before so she was all set. It was game 1 of a 3 game series against the Angels. The Sox ended up sweeping the Halos. My daughter was incredulous.
"And that relationship appears to be ongoing. On Wednesday, veteran journalist Bob Woodward revealed that he had spoken about the unusual relationship between Trump and Putin several months ago with Trump’s former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.
“It’s so close, it seems like it might be blackmail,” Coats said, according to Woodward.
Woodward also recounted a separate conversation he had with CIA Director Bill Burns, who reportedly emphasized that “Putin manipulates” and is “professionally trained” to do so. According to Woodward, Burns believed that Putin has “got a plan” to repeat what he did during the forty-fifth presidential administration by “playing Trump.”"
I remember when GWB took office and he presented his legislative agenda with a comment that he had political capital to spend. DJT is making the same claim, in essence. Both guys claim a mandate with barely more than half the electorate voting for them.
There was one candidate in this election who didn't, as far as I can recall, have any personal ethical challenges. She lost by 3 and a half million votes.
My 2010 Ford is going strong. It helps that most of my commuting around town is by bicycle. Really, at this point my driving is of the little old lady who drives to church variety.
Before Covid I could buy a gallon of milk for $2 more often than not, and eggs were a buck a dozen. Maybe they were loss leaders in the store, but if not, nobody was making money at those prices. I gotta think producers just saw the opportunity for a correction.
I noticed the jump in prices as much as anyone. I also was able to remember what I learned in econ class about pent up demand. Inflation was always going to happen, no matter who was president.
My belief is that many, if not all, of the prosecutions were because he is DJT. Most of it was pretty low level stuff (except for the classified paper stuff, prosecution of which is being abandoned)and probably would have been ignored for anyone else. That said, he got hauled into court and was judged guilty.
We have functionally made the person holding the presidency (or even running for the office) above the law. This is not a good thing.

Probably part of the whole anti-science thing discussed above.

There are a bunch of Dem governors of red states. It seems to me that the party ought to be looking hard at them.
Really, DJT is such a confounding factor in American politics. Does MAGA survive him?

It really was hard to pick a team. My partner is a rabid Yanks fan and she couldn't watch.
The better team won.

Could be worse. Could be the White Sox.

Alas, not. I really want to not care which party is in power in this country.

Hands down, the worst song ever recorded.

I was not aware of these. I daresay you wouldn't be able to find a prosecutor in these United States that didn't have the same record.

Personally, I think all the incredulity is appropriate.
I'm just wondering what the over/under date is for President Vance.

Why would they have to ask the government?

It's more than likely a repeat of the incredulity of 2016 that DJT is even within shouting distance of winning.
