Sunday!
Maribou here. Jaybird’s sitting at the gate without wireless, so as one of the fifteen things he’s asked me to do since we got up this morning, I am making sure everyone has a Sunday post to comment on! (I don’t mind, I was wanting one of those myself.)
I’ve been watching Weeds, nigh-obsessively – I’m in the middle of Season 5. Read Curtseys and Conspiracies, the latest in Gail Carriger’s amusing, not-at-all serious series about a finishing school for young ladies that is actually a training ground for intelligencers and assassins, and I’m in the middle of Nicola Griffith’s Hild (slow but very worth it). I just started the new Fairest hardcover, too.
I’m so pleased that THIS time, when I have to spend most of a month knocking about alone in the house, I can devote myself to, well, mindless diversions, instead of homework.
What are all y’all reading and watching this week?
Rereading Dune for the first time in I don’t know how long. Loving it! But I am at the point were I need to start something else, which is OK, as I just unpacked most of my books. We have been watching Veep, and really enjoying the first season.Report
The whole series, or just the first book?Report
Just the first book. I have never been able to get past the 3rd, though my wife says to read them backwards (6-2)…Report
I’ve read all of them, but it was when I was young and dumb enough to force myself to finish books I wan’t enjoying. (All the ones by Frank Herbert, that is. I don’t think I was ever dumb enough to make myself read the “posthumous collaborations”.)Report
Still working my way through S1 of Masters of Sex. It’s (in)decent.Report
Is that a series of instructional videos? Make sure you get enough rest between episodes, bro.Report
Nope, I watch them back-to-back.
Also front-to-back, and front-to-front.Report
Not as interesting as Glyph but we just finished watching the new Dr. Who through season six on Netflix and starting on Torchwood. Bad/good thing about Netflix is how it allows you to just binge on a showReport
I just watched the last episode of Season 2 of The Walking Dead. I am transfixed and am trying to figure out how to justify spending $40 on season 3 with Christmas around the corner.Report
Just started the last (unless someone else picks it up) season of Futurama, which finally showed up on Netflix. Loved the Flatland homage.Report
Still going through the Illuminaries by Elizabeth Canton
On Saturday I bought Foundation: The History of England vol 1 by Peter AckroydReport
Was Stonehenge where Hari Seldon appeared?Report
