Or netting is installed to prevent people from throwing things and/or suicide attempts.

DavidTC: race in *first person*, and suddenly driving up walls and whatnot is much easier to understand

Huh, that never occurred to me. Thanks! Trying to dodge obstacles while driving on the wall has been one of the points of frustration for me.

I seem to have the most trouble with the hand-to-hand challenges where you have to rack up enough points in a limited number of rounds. I know you have to use as many different moves and gadgets as possible, I just have difficulty working them in during combat.

I've used the Chipotle app to order ahead of time for pickup. Unfortunately, the one near us doesn't appear to be well run (we've had issues each of the few times we've been) and they hadn't even started making the food yet.

I'm surprised the EU or somebody hasn't adopted some sort of ink cartridge standard and forced manufacturers to conform to it.

Too bad I didn't know about those books as a kid. I loved Choose Your Own Adventure and Time Machine books as a kid. I preferred the ones with RPG elements, like the Dungeon and Dragons branded ones, but they seemed few and far between.

I bought Arkham Knight on sale a couple weekends ago. Every Arkham game I've started thinking I'm going to get 100% completion. Then, after trying several challenges, I think "oh yeah, this is why I never get 100% on Arkham games". The story's entertaining, though. It runs well for me, even on max settings, and I've had few issues.

But it's really a matter of degree.

"

That's acute take on it, but some might think you're being obtuse.

On “Morning Ed: Society (2016.09.21.W}

I wonder how much of the difficulty of early games was due to the coin-op roots. Gauntlet used to suck down quarters. They had incentive to not make it any easier. I still remember being in awe of someone much older than me shoveling money into Space Ace (or maybe it was Dragon's Lair), both because of how expensive the game was and how difficult I found the game's mechanics to be.

"Why does anyone plaster their social media accounts with photos of anything?"

The article seems a bit of 'I don't get it, therefore nobody should do it'. Instagram's popularity indicates that quite a few people find value in plastering social media with photos.

I've been playing a lot of RimWorld lately. I've played it off and on for last two years, but started messing around with mods since it's now on Steam. It's early access, but I've gotten well more than my money's worth off the game.

Perhaps he didn't have time to be politically correct.

What's funny is nobody has yet said Obama was incorrect.

On “Hannity Before There Was Hannity

That's when I first remember hearing about her. Then, thanks to Baader-Meinhof, began to see more references to her shortly after.

"

Ha ha, charade she was.

Who wouldn't want to see Trump pick Secretary of Defense by seeing which applicants could run a lemonade stand the best?

Plastic water bottles will be next. There're even more common and public opinion is already turning on them.

On “Linky Friday #176: Eggheadery

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

On “CNN: Man shot by cops while lying down with hands up, lawyer says [+Video]

The problem is not that cops sometimes make tragic mistakes. The problem is the growing perception that they are seemingly rarely held accountable for those mistakes. I haven't seen anybody on a state or local level (or federal, for that matter) actually taking action to try and rebuild confidence in the police and their procedures.

If not, then the Republicans should absolutely embarrass them for it.

On “Morning Ed: Society {2016.07.06.Th}

From the article:

"Mrs. Clinton’s best defense, and one she cannot utter in public, is that whatever the risks of keeping her own email server, that server was certainly no more vulnerable than the State Department’s. Had she held an unclassified account in the State Department’s official system, as the rules required, she certainly would have been hacked."

On “Morning Ed: USA! {2016.07.04.M}

If only the GOP were in some kind of position, to, gee, I don't know, pass a law or something, to make it unquestionably illegal for government officials to use private accounts for government business...

On “WAFB: Man shot by BRPD multiple times to chest, back

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if, after the government investigates the government's actions, the government concludes the government was completely justified in depriving a citizen of life without due process.
