On “The Way Through is Donald Trump for President

I look forward to the concession that will be made for them to be removed. Trump like to use them as a bargaining point. Personally I am not a big fan of using them this way, but Trump had some success with this in his first term, so we shall see.

"

Good article Koz. Well put.

For me it is the economic plan. Harris' want to tax unrealized gains is insanity and a great way to crush the average worker's 401k.

Hopefully Trump wins.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: Killing a White Dragon

Not everyone hated it. I liked it quite a bit, but definitely wished they could spend more time on it.

I would love to see a Game of Thrones treatment of some classic D&D books.

On “Open Mic for the week of 10/14/2024

I did find one for you though. Trying to bring this back to Florida and insurance.

Since 2016, Florida has ben hit with 9 hurricanes. The second largest 7-8 year period was 5 from 2004-2012.

Since DeSantis was elected (2019) his state has been hit by 6 of those 9 hurricanes mentioned above. I am sure his evil policies have created a localized global warming effect that is sucking in hurricanes to hit Florida.

"

"It’s difficult to compare decades, because weather technology has gotten much better, so we’re better able to detect storms now than in the past, "

You have refuted your own argument right there. Much easier to name storms when you can detect them better.

"

Are we looking at the same data? Cat 2s for 1951 to 2022 was 27. taking that same period going from 1950 back shows 36 Cat 2s. More then than less.

Maybe you mean by percentages? Nope that does not work either, From 51-22, 25.2% of hurricanes were Cat 2. While 50's back was 25.9%.

"

I find it funny that we think the number and severity of hurricanes are so much worse now.

Looking at hurricane history shows the number of US landfalls peaked in the 40's. then dropped dramatically. We are only now seeing the levels approach what happened in the past for the US. Take a look for yourselves.

The real issue is the amount of growth that needs to be insured now compared to 70+ years ago. That is what current insurers are struggling with.

On “Trump Guilty On All Counts

This trail did something I thought I would never do again. First, actively root for Trump to win the election (not just resign myself to the better of two terrible choices). Second, give money to his campaign again (did in 2016, didn't in 2020, now back to giving, sigh).

This level Lawfair against an single person reminds me of the sham trails in China and Iran. When did the US fall so low?

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: A Steeplechase in D&D

I was the DM and very happy with how the steeple chase worked out. I was happy with everyone staying engaged and that is came down to the last locations for the win.

I do like the idea of having more teams if I take this to a con. That add more conflict as Jaybird mentioned.

Now I have to see if I really want to run it at a con.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: Gremlins, Inc

Jaybird knows this, but I hated Gremlins Inc. Played two games of it and never looked back.

Right now I am playing Pathfinder:Kingmaker. I am a 12th level Magus and enjoying it a ton.

On “Summing Up Justice Alito’s Draft Opinion in Dobbs v Mississippi

This court is starting to have this habit of overturning prior cases. In 2018 the Wayfair case overturned Quill and National Bellas Hess.

On “Weekend Plans Post: Batchin’ It for WrestleMania

Lesnar is a slow plodding bum that could not string two moves together with a towing cable.

I agree that Edge v Styles will be the best match of the show.

So, wings for lunch, dinner, or both??

On “Weekend Plans Post: The Garden Gnomes That Weren’t There

Dang, I will have to help resupply you with the weird garden gnomes again.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: Paradox Interactive Admits It

Well, I am still playing Battle Tech. Not as much as I did a year ago. Love that game. They did a fantastic job of making the battle mechs and did good with the b-tach history.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: Finding Synergies

I am still playing Battletech. I have move on to hardcore merc company. This is were there are no redo's as everything done is auto saved. I have lost two merc companies so far, and I am play my third. This company sucks, but is somehow living.

On “Butcher Box, Misfits Market, and Food Delivered in a Box

We use another service from Passanante. You sign up for 6 months of meat (frozen) and vegies. Part of what comes is a freezer to hold it. All vacuum sealed. We have loved it. I was not sure about the freezer, but have loved it.

Very nice cuts of meat and has dropped our food bill quite a bit.

Of course you have to figure out what you think you will want for 6 months and that can be a challenge, but after the first couple of orders, you get a much better feel.

On “Weekend Plans Post: Stir Crazy

We had a fun adventure on Sunday. The family took a drive to Garden of the Gods. As we drove around in GotG we found a dirt road leading of and decided to take it. And hour and a half and 23 winding miles of dirt road later, we came out in Woodland Park.

It was a fun adventure , but only for two of us. My wife and I enjoyed the scenery and the time out of the house. My son on the other hand flipped out. He kept saying that we were all going to die up in the mountains. Still not sure how much of it was not wanting to be stuck in the car for so long vs actual concern, probably 60-40.

I doubt there will be much going on outside this weekend.

On “My Favorite Board Game

I only play Inevitable Betrayal if I have Open Lord out or in my hand.

On “State of the Union: Pre-game, Live Thread, and Reax

I listen to Rush for about 45 minutes 3 times a week. Definitely not a retiree.

Most likely this came about because Rush has come out stating he has advanced lung cancer. Not a huge shock since he has been a heavy cigar smoker most of his life.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: Star Trek Fleet Captains

Yes! Anyone that punches Q in face gets the top spot.

On “Weekend Plans Post: Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish

I plan on having everything attack the middle of the party for my D&D session. :P

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: No Man’s Sky’s Evolution

I was happy to play Azul and Catacombs last week with my family.

On “Tenshot: Blake’s Seven

I was fortunate to have watched most of this series, but it was years ago and my memory of the show is not much. I do remember liking it quite a bit.

Semi spoiler------

So, bummed about the ship.

On “Saturday Morning Gaming: One Of Those Games You Keep Coming Back To

"Rhymes with bow" is prefect for this issue.

Bow to the king or put an arrow in your bow?

On “Sunday Morning: Daredevil’s Born Again

I am bummed about Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Luke's second season was not as good as the first, but I still enjoyed it a ton. Love the turn at the end and was hoping to see his redemption.

Iron Fist 2 was much better than the first season (not hard) and was actually good. Wanted to see the next season of that too.

Have to wonder if this is the end of the supers on Netflix.
