aaron david: this is the some really good jazz, by some of the modern masters
[in response to my noticing the one dude’s epic beard:]Yes, texas style! I have a habit of following session/backup musicians, to see other things they have influenced.

Glyph: These guys started out as very Joy Division-influenced postpunkers. Then they got wind of sampling and decided to hook up ALL their instruments to MIDI so they could trigger samples with them. It’s a sort of disorienting sonic experience, to hear camera shutters and breaking glass and screeching tires in place of strings, but neat.

aaron david: Chelsea Wolfe: Originally from Sacramento, you may know her from the GoT trailer the last season. That tune is not on this album, but still a great listen.

Criminally overlooked. Superior to contemporaries Codeine and Bedhead. Not my favorite album of theirs, but still great.

Sister Crayon: Another Sac band, electronica, and just really really good.Report
By the way, when I say Texas style, I am talking about the piano players beard.Report
