Breitbart Rolls Over After Reporter ‘Grabbed’ by Trump Aide – The Daily Beast
“It’s obviously unacceptable that someone crossed a line and made physical contact with our reporter,” said the Breitbart statement, issued under the name of Larry Solov, the outlet’s CEO and president. “What Michelle has told us directly is that someone ‘grabbed her arm’ and while she did not see who it was, Ben Terris of The Washington Post told her that it was Corey Lewandowski. If that’s the case, Corey owes Michelle an immediate apology.”
The statement was issued in the wee hours of Wednesday morning but remains Breitbart’s official comment on the matter, hours after sources said Lewandowski acknowledged to Breitbart’s Washington political editor, Matthew Boyle, that he did manhandle Fields. […]
The Breitbart statement struck sources within Breitbart and outside the company as strangely inadequate, given that it blames an unidentified “someone,” uses the conditional phrase “if that’s the case,” and leaves open the possibility that Lewandowski didn’t lay hands on Fields.

It’s unsurprising that Breitbart worships the Trump campaign, which would be the word made flesh if the words were “a boatload of dildos”.Report
I don’t often wish I used Twitter, but when I do, it is to imagine retweeting a comment like this.Report
I really want to just start a Twitter account, perhaps with the name “Schike Milling,” and just tweet his comments.Report
So am I wrong in reading this as – we sorry since you are on our team but fish any one from outside our team we will manhandle them all we like and be proud of it?Report
Now a spokesperson claims that nothing happened. Probably would have been good to tell Lewandowski to deny everything from the start if that was their plan.Report
That was my take as well. “This would have been okay if they were “adversarial”.”Report
Is this becoming a thing? It seems like a lot of conservative blogs are now starting to cover it, in part because of the ham-handed way Breitbart Media dealt with the fallout. It’s a startling look into what women who make accusations of abuse have to go through: we had the reporters statement, immediate eye-witness accounts, photographs of the bruises, a contemporaneous audio recording where the witness and the victim describe what happened, an apology non-apology from the alleged aggressor, and now video clip that nearly seals the deal.
AND AFTER ALL OF THAT, the top comment on every story I’ve read is a statement of fact that the reporter made it all up and is just whoring for attention.Report
