How I Feel
GRMLN – “Teenage Rhythm”
It’ll happen to you, too!

Glyph
Glyph is worse than some and better than others. He believes that life is just one damned thing after another, that only pop music can save us now, and that mercy is the mark of a great man (but he's just all right). Nothing he writes here should be taken as an indication that he knows anything about anything.

How did I miss this group? Love that pop punk sound.
A propos of nothing, but it struck me that Teenage Rhythm Method would be a great band name.Report
Pop-punk can be a dicey proposition for me and is usually best enjoyed in small doses, but this track is pretty good (and I love the video).
The guitar in the verses sounds a little Superchunk-y to me; and at the end the way he sings/pronounces “nooowww” is naggingly-familiar, but I can’t place it.Report
The video is pretty awesome.Report
Yeah, it’s awesome.
I think I’m breaking the commenting system.Report
I have said it before, but when you go on a video-posting binge, I enjoy evern comment of it.Report
Based on the post title, I was expecting this one:
Quite a different sound. 😀Report
Have you seen the Nina documentary on Netflix? It’s worth watching, especially for fans.Report
Not yet but I have it queued.Report
Very nice!
We could probably fill an entire post with just variations on this theme.

See, we need more bands like this to come back.
This “watch me whip” nonsense is bogging everybody down.Report
But Dinosaur DID come back, and the records are good!
They’ll never culturally-overwhelm dance-pop though. That’s just not going to happen.Report
Oh, Washed Out! That will distract me a bit.
Then again, maybe…

Hailing from the 70’s, I was expecting thisReport
Oh man, that takes me back.
OT, but speaking of songs that were huge hits but that I had TOTALLY forgotten about, this played over the credits of an episode of Red Oaks and I was stunned.
This was a huge hit way back when, but I had not heard it nor thought of it in yonks:

I was watching some later period videos from Wire this morning, and was just transfixed by Bruce Gilbert’s stage presence. He gives new meaning to the term shoegaze.Report
