Super Bowl Open Thread
I don’t have a real rooting interest, but I am anticipating a great game. My tentative pick: Steelers over Packers, 28-24.
Feel free to throw out any predictions, gambling tips, or jokes at Ben Roethlisberger’s expense in the comments. We may finagle a prize for anyone who guesses the final score before kickoff (Unlimited guest posting privileges for a week? A hardcover edition of Rufus’s “Blogging the Canon” series? A loaf of bread from the lovely Lisa Kramer?).
Pack over Smelters 31-21.Report
Props! That was very close to the mark, Michael Drew.Report
Injected a little optimism on the spread there, but if I’d dialed it back I probably woulda come off the 31 a bit, so glad I held tight on that.Report
Too bad. Now you’ll never know what exciting price pack we had in store for the winning contestant.Report
1. Green Bay 27-24.
2. Aaron Rodgers MVP (as well as first Cal QB to win a Super Bowl.)Report

Erin Rogers will throw a touchdown pass. There will be much noise and debauchery in Dallas. In the Super Interview Game between O’Reilly and Obama, America loses to Silliness 88 – 0Report

You know, I have to say that I absolutely hate the alternate version of “The Music Must Change” on the re-issue of Who Are You.
It took me a long time to get into that song anyway, but once I did, I loved it.
And now the whole thing is shot to hell by the guitar part on this alternate take.
Not that I was ever impressed by Townsend as a guitarist in the first place.
And the EQ on Who Are You is just horrible.
No matter what you do in order to make it sound good, you have to adjust the EQ the next thing you play. Every time.
And I’m thinking that might just be a bit too much diddling with the EQ.
Not that I don’t like my EQ setup, mind you.
It’s just that I prefer to be a bit lazier having obtained such a prize EQ over here.
As far as the Super Bowl goes, I would say that the EQ is adequate.
Really, I have the impulse to dial out the mids a bit.
And I would soften the upper range. Less air.
But other than that, I would say it’s ok.Report
