If this asteroid were headed for Earth, DART would have to hit it about 500 years in advance for such a velocity correction to make it miss.
It’s been a while since I did one of these so here’s a short video looking at what Interview with The Vampire got wrong about astronomy.
So, no, PZ39 is not a danger. This is not a sudden discovery that we are worried about. It’s not passing particularly close to us nor is it likely to. But the overall danger of objects like PZ39 — while low — is real.
Here’s the thing though: even if vaccines did cause autism, even if they caused other injuries, it would still be worth it.
