I am struck again by how much technology — in this case, transportation — has changed. Shipped the golf clubs ahead; traveling by ship, probably at least two days each way; not coming back until spring, because after all, if it’s that much work to get there you need to stay long enough for it to be worthwhile. I have a friend who went fly-fishing in Belize last year. His fishing gear went on the plane with him, a travel day on each end of a ten-day total vacation, with eight days of fishing. Flying time if you catch one of the direct flights between Denver and Belize City is six hours.Report
Yet the underlying sentiment has been true since forever.Report
What strikes me about these cartoons is how much they acknowledge everyone was buying illegal booze in the 1920s.Report
