I am struck again by how much technology — in this case, transportation — has changed. Shipped the golf clubs ahead; traveling by ship, probably at least two days each way; not coming back until spring, because after all, if it’s that much work to get there you need to stay long enough for it to be worthwhile. I have a friend who went fly-fishing in Belize last year. His fishing gear went on the plane with him, a travel day on each end of a ten-day total vacation, with eight days of fishing. Flying time if you catch one of the direct flights between Denver and Belize City is six hours.Report
