The last frame somehow reminds me of one of my favorite golf jokes.
One lovely Sunday morning the minister tells his assistant that he’s too sick to handle the services, so the assistant will have to cover. The minister then grabs his golf clubs and hurries out to the course, where he’s the only one playing. On the first hole he drives the ball into the woods, but it bounces cleanly back out onto the fairway in perfect position. On the second hole he tops the ball badly but instead of disappearing into the pond, it skips across like a well-thrown stone and onto the green. This continues through the round — lucky bounces, perfect putts, and the minister shoots the best score of his life.
Up in Heaven, where God has been taking a hand in all of that good fortune, one of the angels says, “God, he’s a minister. He lied about being sick and sneaked out to the golf course. How can you reward him with all that luck?”
And God replied, “Who can he tell?”Report
I coulda used some of that today.Report
