A Country Kind of Summer
This year for our summer vacation we went to Outer Banks, NC. If you haven’t been there, it’s like many beach areas, with a (very) long strip and lots of t-shirt shops, seafood shacks, and places where you can get fishing gear if you suddenly decide to wet a line in the Atlantic. We had fantastic weather, and I spent an obscene amount of time in a comfortable chair with a stack of books and magazines. Just about perfect. It was also one of those trips where you just pack a bunch of shorts, shirts, baseball caps and flip-flops and get on the road. Having the right soundtrack made it all come together perfect. Because we stayed in the South this year, and because I love country music, our trip really got me in the mood for the pop stuff. Songs about beaches, or having a few drinks, or summer romance. Songs that just seem to put a smile on my face. So…it’s Saturday night and maybe you’re near a beach too. Here’s a sample of my mix from Summer 2017.
Easton Corbin – Roll With It
Old Dominion – Song for Another Time
Chris Janson – Fix A Drink
Rascal Flatts – Yours If You Want It
Jon Pardi – Up All Night
Kenny Chesney – Save It for a Rainy Day
Kelsea Ballerini – Yeah Boy
Keith Urban – You’re Gonna Fly
