Jaybird
Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to upgrade our service plan. Hopefully this will help us address some of our performance issues.

In the last four weeks over 10,000 Americans died from Covid. It’s the number three killer in the U.S., behind only cancer and heart disease.Report
According to the CDC, the current 7 day average number of new deaths reported in the US was 358. The previous 7 day average was 369.

Note that 7-day average is expressed in per-day terms, and 360 x 28 is about 10,000.Report
Holding two uncomfortable truths simultaneously:
1. A lot of us are so exhausted by working two people’s (or more!) jobs at the same time that a lot of us HAVE thought “it would be nice to be sick, just not very sick, and be ‘allowed’ to stay home for a few days and watch old movies and have someone cater to us’ (I have no one to cater to me though, so I try to avoid getting even minorly sick)
2. For people who lost loved ones to COVID this is a pretty uncomfortable sketch. Also uncomfortable to people with chronic illness who have been mocked in the past for having to take days off to recuperate after doing something out of the ordinary.
I dunno. It hits uncomfortably but there’s a nugget of truth in it that we’re all kind of……we just want to have some time to relax.Report
