A bunch of pundits who are writing concern trolling pieces about how the coronation is a mistake and some of the rich donors who still thought they could get Manchin somehow.

Also, let's be clear about why the press is having a sad. They wanted a blitz primary/brokered convention because they thought it would get lots of eyeballs and now they don't get it.

Lining up behind Harris was the smart move for a lot of reasons:

1. Harris has access to Biden's campaign resources and doesn't have to start from scratch;

2. She has grown since her campaign in 2020. Her speeches are amazing;

3. Party unity after three weeks of bad feelings;

4. She can be new blood and a continuance of the Biden admin for the 40 percent of Democrats who thought Biden should remain the nominee.

One suspects that Biden and other Democratic leaders knows what they are doing.

There is a Qunnipac poll which has Trump up 2 but it also has 18-29 year old voters favoring Trump by crushing numbers and Harris doing better with 50+ voters than Trump and this kind of paradigm shift requires extraordinary evidence

The GOP is apparently in complete meltdown over Biden's announcement.

Biden endorsed Harris and others are following very quickly. Good.

I am optimistic that she can do this. Trump is unpopular and Biden was unpopular. Polling indicated that a lot of Americans wanted anyone but Trump or Biden to be the 2024 nominees and Project 2025 was getting the GOP bad press before the RNC. The RNC did not go over well with the non-cultists.

Biden is going back on the campaign trail this week. He could still step aside but I think he is in it until the end and the mechanisms to get him out are not really there.

I know it is different conventions but there is a reason law doesn’t place much stock in anonymous statements and journalism might be better off relying on it less as well.

Jaybird wants Trump to win every year. He just can't admit it openly.
