Great post Tod and pretty much exactly what was going through my head as I listened to Romney. His answer just reinforced my belief that he does not care and does not have a clue as to what is important to women. I mean really they knew of NO women qualified for cabinet posts?! I think what that means is that Romney, and his apparently all male team, don't believe that women are qualified for the job. It reads to me like he went searching for "token" women to put in his administration because well you know women should be home making dinner for the kids.
87% Jill Stein, 84% Obama, 71% Gary Johnson, 13% Romney
Democrat 67%, Green 67%, Libertarian 33% and Republican 5%
Not really surprised except for the 13% for Romney I really dislike the man don't trust him one bit
I tweaked the scales on the left increasing never decreasing and chose quite a few of the other presented options did not write anything in
Guess I am just the crunchy granola democrat my libertarian husband says I am
I just had a friend in the bay area turned down by Kaiser because of pre-existing conditions. I haven't had health insurance the past couple of years (self employed coverage way too high) I am trying to get on my husbands and am worried I will not get on for the same reason. Not that I have anything wrong just in the past have had to have tests that turned out negative but I am afraid they will say that because things repeatedly looked abnormal that that will be a pre-existing condition
Burt how do we participate? I believe I have a camera built into my laptop that I can figure out how to work (maybe) by the the next debates. Thanks for hosting it was mice to hear a thoughtful discussion. Personally I think Romney maybe came off better stylistically to some people but I did find him...umm smarmy it was his smirk and car salesman like demeanor. Well that and his shall we say creative relationship with the facts. I think Obama missed many opportunities to call him on. However it is difficult to argue or point out holes in a policy that has not been put forth in detail yet.
I really like the name and am reluctant to change it. Actually it is one of the reasons I came to the site (well and a link from Sully) More off putting is the treatment of people in the comments, pressed for time right now but will try to expand on that later.
And thanks to Erik, Mark, Tod, etal. who keep this place running
