Maribou was gone for a bit and, while that happened, we had a number of really warm days and it reached the point where I said “you know what? It’d be nice to welcome Maribou back with linen (and not flannel) sheets.”
So, as part of all of the prep for her return, I got all of the linen sheets out of the storage bags and washed everything and then swapped the sheets and washed the dirty flannels and then put all of the flannels in the storage bags and put those in the back of the closet until October or so. I got rid of the winter quilts and put them away and brought out the seersucker quilt. (The kitties *LOVE* the seersucker. They always get excited and spend a few minutes making biscuits and purring when it comes back.) Swap out the two blankies covering the tootsies for just one blanket. Aw yeah. Spring has sprung.
So, of course, there’s a storm coming in. It’s gonna hit the low 30s tonight, then snow all day tomorrow with snow showers on Saturday.
My bad, guys. Sorry. I seriously thought it was the middle of April.
This last week, was spent just, you know, working and working. The kitties are swell company but they’re not, you know, *GREAT* company so it’s easy to work 10s under those conditions. Getting home involved doing chores and prep for Maribou’s return… trash, recycling, (fewer) dishes, (less) laundry, and so on… but grocery trips were mostly routine and involved visiting the freezer case a lot more often than the ingredients aisles.
Well, now everybody’s back, I can sleep again, and I need to go out to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for the crock pot and stove top and stuff to throw together for the oven!
Except… it’s going to be snowing.
Well, maybe it’ll be a dud and I can just run out and run back. Ride out the storm.
And enjoy normalcy.
So… what’s on your docket?

I need to hit the grocery, too. I’m gonna go to the nicer one (An Albertson’s) about a half hour to the south, but maybe also go a few more places as well, since I’m out and I get today off (We get Good Friday, despite being a “state” school)
It’s supposed to rain like stink tomorrow so I need to run my errands today.
I also need some time to decompress; it’s been a wild week (a problematic person involved with the church I belong to and I deal with a little of the fallout; a student reporting sexual abuse to me that I had to report up the chain since I’m a mandated reporter; finding out someone we thought we were going to hire turned us down) and I’m TIRED. This has also been the worst allergy season I can remember.Report
We joke that one of our guys here is our “union rep,” and this week we were jokingly spreading the tale that our “union rep” had decreed Friday to be a day off. Of course, we knew we were going to be open but we (well, me) were hoping (maliciously) that it would at least rise to the level where someone from management would have to address the community that yes, we’d be open despite what people may have heard.
Alas! It seems everyone has gotten used to our shenanigans.Report
When my children were small they would ask if it was the last snow of the season. I always told them no, because that way I was only wrong once. They eventually figured out that I was always going to say no, and quit asking.Report
Kinda looks like maybe it’s going to be a dud, apart from the cold…but it’s early yet! It could still happen! We’ve had windows open and the heat off all week and it’s been nice, but this morning I woke up and realized that, although I’d closed all the windows, I’d neglected to turn the heat back on.
We’ve hopefully got our usual Friday Night Magic gathering tonight (it’s been a few weeks due to illnesses and travel) and tomorrow a member of our regular D&D group is coming over to give Commander a go. And then Sunday, of course, is Wrestlemania!Report
OH YEAH WRESTLEMANIAReport
Also, Maribou’s bod has informed us that the snow is still coming.Report
Yes indeed. It’s making an effort and the roads are wet but so far nothing is sticking.Report
