Long, long ago, in the very early days of the World Wide Web, I was charged with assembling the online pages for one of the research groups at the giant telecom where I worked. At that group’s request, I included pictures and bios of the the members. One of the women stopped by my cubicle some days later and remarked that the picture of her I had used was very flattering, much better than she usually came out in pictures. Since it was just a B&W frame grab from a video camera I went back and checked, and discovered that I’d inadvertently stretched her picture a few percent vertically, slightly changing the shape of her face.Report
