I’ve been looking for something to read, and now I have it. Thanks. I feel the same way about Cormac McCarthy’s prose, though he is far from unrecognized. His words describing the often nihilistic goings on in his novels are just beautiful works of art. Spare and to the point.

Bummer about the record store. I thought it was moving!

Lastly, heartfelt condolences on the loss of your friend. Death is sometimes tragic, and sometimes welcome, but somehow it always catches us by surprise. Going that young is certainly on the former end.Report

    • The record store is in limbo. We’re a “thriving” gentrifying city, so our once-lively shop culture has been replaced by scores of empty, investor-owned storefronts with $1800/month rents. Maybe if we lived there too, it’d make sense.

Yeah, it seems like when someone dies unexpectedly, it’s always someone like Adam where’d you’ll never find anyone who has a negative word to say about him. It’s probably a good argument for pissing a few people off in life!Report
