Morning Ed: Prohibited or Mandated
As I post this, I did want to clarify one thing I was talking about. When I talked about being “required” to take the vaccine I didn’t mean holding people down and poking them, or anything along those lines. There’s no Constitutional mechanism to do that, really, nor should there be. Rather I refer to a series of restrictions on public behavior (the ability to fly, go to public events, work many jobs, etc) that would make not getting vaccinated a difficult decision.
I work with someone who is not an anti-vaxxer but who is anti-this-particular-vax.
The main thing that he mentions when we bug him about the shot is that it hasn’t been approved by the FDA and that he can’t sue the companies if the shot messes him up.
(“You won’t be able to sue the Wuhan Institute of Virology either, dude”, I want to tell him.)
I don’t think he’s measuring risk particularly well.
But I say that as someone who got the shot on the second day it became available to me.Report
I spoke to my “science nerd friends”, and by science I mean biologist, etc. who actually do research in these fields. They confirmed that the “vaccine” isn’t legally a vaccine and therefore, any harm done by the “vax” isn’t qualified for coverage under the vaccine reimbursement fund. It also hasn’t had any long term safety testing (how could it?). On those issues alone, there’s gonna be folks who are cautious about getting stabbed–regardless of all the PR saying you should get it.Report

and if the flag in the court has a gold fringe then it’s an Admiralty Court and nothing the judge says is valid!Report
I fully support only Democrats (and especially their children) getting all the vaccines they want, plus booster shots, for every new covid variant unveiled.
After watching your video my intuition is that I should not do anything you say.Report
The interesting thing is watching people who went to the mattresses for “the government MUST DEFINITELY mandate that ALL businesses serve EVERYONE because otherwise it would become a social norm to not serve Certain People” turn around and say “well, it’s certainly acceptable for businesses to deny service to certain people, I mean, it’s private property and all…”Report
