When I was in high school and played competitive golf, during every practice round someone in the foursome would hit the ball into someplace stupid. It became the “Coke shot”, with each of us playing from the same place and trying for some positive result. Player with the best result got their Coke for free, paid for by the others. In an actual match, particularly at that age, there is a large psychological advantage when your opponent thinks you are in a hopeless position, and you pull off something that looks insane, but works.Report
