The new tariffs seem to have be set by AI:

The Bar Associations still control access to the courts through licensing and since most legislators have a lawyer background, that isn't going away. Plus the attempts at using AI in law have been an utter disaster, especially in the Court room but I'm guessing AI will make a muck of contracts, wills, and other legal documents as well.

Just because there is a problem doesn't mean there is a solution. Most of the low skilled work codes feminine or at least insignificantly masculine and a lot of low skill guys won't take those jobs because of dignity and worth just like they don't take subsidy for the same reasons. At the same time, there are enough of them to wreck political havoc because their fantasy economy doesn't exist and they vote out their cultural preferences.

Not to our general liking. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place because much of the further left is demanding that we take loyalty oaths to things we cant support like the right is demanding loyalty to oaths to things we can't support. It's dealing with two idiot armies saying that "no, you're the anti-Semite" among themselves while ignoring what actual Jews are saying.

“Hashem, please grant me the confidence of a non-Jew explaining to me what is and isn’t antisemitic”

"

The left always struggled with anti-Semitism because Jews don't fit into any neat place in their cosmology and also because a lot of the left is anti-Semitic. "Anti-Semitism is the socialism of fools" became a saying for a reason. For a lot of the left, anti-Semitism can come across as resistance or even emancipatory because Jews are associated with capitalism and power. Others really don't want to criticize groups they are sympathetic to when they engage in anti-Semitism or want to ignore it if something viewed more important is at stake.

The other big issue is that basically the Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestinian sides are basically occupying completely different factual universes. They can't agree on anything. Most Jews until you get to the extremes edges are going to see the various aliyahs and Zionism as a response to the persecution Jews faced and an attempt at Jewish national liberation. The Prp-Palestinian movement is incapable of understanding why anybody would be sympathetic towards Jews or Israel at all.

Jews are the monkey in the middle as the Right and Left play a game of "No, you're the anti-Semite " between them. There have been many Jews listing our problems with anti-Semitism on the Right and the Left for years since 9/11 but nobody really listens to us on this issue.

"Hashem, please grant me the confidence of a non-Jew explaining to me what is and isn’t antisemitic" has become something of a thing among Jews recently.

"

For what it's worth, most American Jews do not want Khalil and other people detained and deported because of their political opinions regarding Israel even if we retch and said political opinions and found the Pro-Palestinian protest movements on campus to be a lot less innocent and righteous than they presented themselves at being. Most of us voted for Harris though.

Last week I wrote about the 26 year old Kat Abughazaleh the primary challenger to 80 year Jan Schkowsky for Illinois' 9th District and how this might be a big political mismatch since the Illinois 9th District is a very Jewish district and Abughazaleh has taken a very hotile to Israel stance. In more evidence of this mistmatch, Kat has apparently confused AIPAC and J-Street and is going after Representive Jan Schkowsky for getting money from J-Street, which is generally much less hawkish and much more friendly towards the Palestinians than AIPAC.

I am completely not sure about how much the Pro-Palestine faction in the West really cares about the Palestinians so much as they care about hurting Israel/Jews. Their strategy seems so utterly boneheaded at times and so intensely focused at doing useless actions like spraying painting "F-world Israel" on public property or dedicated to re-litigating Zionism or making patently ridiculous demands that they don't seem to care about Palestinians that much.

I mean define secular. I went to Hebrew school until I graduated from high school, my family belonged to a synagogue, we did Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Chanukkah, and Pesach. We lit the Shabbat candles, etc.

"

I always wonder when celebrities do this type of stuff is whether it is out of true belief, a hope that it will make them popular, or a combination. I mean there is no reason to doubt that Ziegler might really believe what she put on social media about Israel or Gal Gadot but at the same time, the phrasing just seems really calculated.

According to my brother, teens having a party when the parents are out of town is something that doesn't seem to occur to teenagers in Asian countries. He keeps hearing stories through his wife's friends where some sort of mild to medium level naughtiness would be the end point if an American told it and there is never that. When the teens say that they are going to study in the library with friends, that is what happens.
