Weekend Plans Post: Thanksgiving Open Thread
We’re going to be spending the day at Ma’s for Thanksgiving, making the boys Philly Cheese Steaks and telling jokes that will make the grammas take deep breaths and then sigh, and then, after we’re all peopled out, we’ll be coming home to sit quietly and I’m going to be playing some of the games that are on sale thanks to Steam’s Thanksgiving Sale.
While there, we might ask if the boys had ever heard Dan Bern’s “Thanksgiving Day Parade” (which seems unlikely).
Maybe even Alice’s Restaurant (which seems more likely that they’ve heard but not a *LOT* more likely).
We will eat too much and laugh too much and I’ll be bringing Roll Through The Ages: The Bronze Age to play after dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us to all of you.
So… what’s on your docket?

Always worth noting that cats have solved the “how do you fold a sheet in seven seconds?” question.

A quiet Thanksgiving by myself. The care facility where my wife lives now has not given the all-clear on their Covid outbreak. My son and his partner have a long Friendsgiving tradition they continue. My daughter’s in-laws have always made a huge fuss about Thanksgiving so she and her husband have to shepherd the three granddaughters to at least two, and possibly three meals. Fortunately those are all within a few miles of each other, since the snow is supposed to start in about an hour and continue through Saturday morning.Report
Happy Thanksgiving, Michael. Thank you for all that you do.
And you were right about the people camping in front of Best Buy.
There weren’t any.Report
