I thought that this would be easier to find. But Betty Buckley sang on the 45 for Cats’ “Memory” and the other side was “Overture”. That messes up the results. There’s a guy called “Scott Buckley” who posts a lot of trailer music to his youtube channel such as the overture to the Avengers movies or the overture to videogames like Oblivion. That messes up the results.Report
Olivia Buckley is the only Buckley composer listed in Wikipedia who was born before the time this comic was published. She does seem to have written one opera.Report
That’s what I needed!
I can’t find the overture to The Third Royal Infant.
There are, however, two harp pieces that I found:
Here’s the one that blew me away:
She did the arrangement of “I drempt that I dwelt in marble halls”. Recognize the line? It shows up in Orwell’s “A Happy Vicar“.

Here is a quick review of her 2nd Royal Infant opera — perhaps points to an explanation of her obscurity and lack of internet footprint today.Report
DANG!
“A more pitiable collection of heterogenous nonsense never disgraced a music shop; and if such concoctions are to be dished up, and served to his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales as the foundation upon which his mind is to be reared and modelled, the sooner such Bedlamites are placed in custody the better for the future peace and prosperity of the country at large.”
You could put that in Pitchfork in the current year.
(I had to look up “bedlamites”. It means “lunatics, madmen, maniacs”.)Report
“Bedlam” in turn is derived from St Mary Bethlehem (aka Bethlehem Royal Hospital) a famous/infamous mental hospital in London.
