Saturday is supposed to be sunny and warm, so probably do a few things outside, and we have plans to meet up with friends with kids and a dog so all can play.

Sunday I’m hanging my closet door, finally.

Also, for anyone curious as to how a big ship got stuck in the Suez Canal, this is a good article.Report

Getting my first does of the Pfizer today. I’m looking forward to the space laser control. Other than that grading.

And I’m glad none of my Kickstarter games are on the ship.Report

      Excellent! Good luck!

My recommendation, and take it for what it is worth: Get some pre-made food for dinner. Order a pizza, pick up a rotisserie chicken on the way home, something like that. Even having something that you can toss into the microwave for 2 minutes before eating will be a good idea.

I had *NO* gas in my tank the evening I got my shot.Report

@Jaybird Thanks for the advice. My wife’s been vaccinated for two months now, so she might head out to get dinner if need be. I’ve had it for about an two hours now and all is well.

I gotta say, they have an efficient system here for the shots, using the state fairgrounds and two winding lanes of car queues. It went smoothly, and while not as quick as I would’ve like, it’s a good system for handling lots of people.Report

First Holy Communion for the 6-yo tomorrow. He’s making first confession today, and pretty psyched about it. I’m like, eh, give it a few decades and see how you feel… speaking of which, made my Easter confession for my Easter Duty. One of my legacy Greek Orthodox ideas I was using the pandemic to smuggle into the Catholic Church was the idea of fewer instances of communion, but greater preparation devotion beforehand. After a year of this project I can report the uptake in the Shenandoah Valley of this ancient discipline: 0.

More work in the woods this weekend… cutting windfall, clearing paths… enjoying the cool spring air as the forest flowers blossom.

Still can’t find vaccinations in our part of Virginia… the tech failure here is par for my experience working with Govt. tech… but still pretty embarrassing.Report

Congratulations to the little one! I think we’ve got one child in our parish’s program this year. But at least we just got permission from the county to up our Mass attendance to 60% capacity. We’ve probably had a lot of fasting from the Eucharist.Report

Gonna have to be a work-end, getting to be that time of the semester. I need to evaluate departmental-scholarship candidates and the online “portal” the university provides to do this is annoying to say the least. I also have three longish articles to tech-edit for a journal I do this as a volunteer service for.

I probably should also write an exam for one of my classes.

Ah well, I had spring break last week, I guess I am just paying for it now 😛Report
