Ordinary Times Needs Your Help

Hello good and faithful readers of Ordinary Times,
Ordinary Times is and always has been a labor of love for its participants, but there are bills to pay and a very large bill is about to come due. Several years ago when my family was experiencing some financial difficulty I asked for some help from editors past and present and they stepped up in a major way. When our family’s financial situation improved, I put some of my own money aside to help pay for the site (along with some unsolicited donations). That fund is starting to run low and on November 19th we have a bill coming due for just shy of $600 and we’re asking for your help.
None of us make money on this site and any extra funds will be put back into the site. I possible, I would like to upgrade our hosting plan to hopefully help address some of the performance problems we’ve had. There are also some other tools I would be interested in obtaining to help operations run more smoothly and hopefully extent the site’s reach. In particular (and if possible reduce Andrew’s workload in trying to make that happen).
So if the site has meant a lot to you over the months or years as it has meant to us, please donate using the link below or email me (trumwill at the site’s domain) and I will give you information on writing a check (which gives us 100% of the proceeds instead of 97%). I can’t quite figure out how to do a button for Venmo, but if you would prefer use that app you can email me and I will give you the information to do so. Likewise Cashapp.
We will likely keep the Donate button on the right sidebar (though featured less prominently) going forward. For tax reasons, it’s best to get donations the same year bills are due and this is a high-billing year.
As always, the best thing you can do for the Ordinary Crew is to read, comment, and participate. As well as tell your friends about the site and any articles you like.
