Weekend Plans Post: Batchin’ It (Again) and It’s Snowing
After covid and a bunch of various physical maladies, Maribou is getting leaps-and-bounds better. She went back to Canada! She visited family! She wanted to go out to visit her bestie out in Seattle around Thanksgiving but I pointed out that she missed last Thanksgiving due to her various physical maladies and so, this year, could we all go together?
She shuffled her schedule around and figured that this week was the week that made the most sense. As such… well, I’m batchin’ it.
It’s just me and the kitties and a foot of snow! Which means that I get to WFH for a handful of days. Which is nice (well, except for the whole “sedentary lifestyle” thing) because I can spend time with the cats instead of airlocking them into the dining room lest they run past me to the outdoors and the main cost is stuff like “sleeping and hugging the pillow all night instead of just until 2ish”.
(Oh, I have recently discovered the joys of sleeping while hugging a pillow. Maribou and I have staggered bedtimes. I go to bed ~10 and she goes to bed ~2 and so I’ve started hugging a pillow while I fall asleep and, seriously, I have somehow rediscovered what little kids have known since time immemorial: Teddy Bears are pretty sweet.)
So, this weekend will mostly be spent at home thanks to the awful weather (well, it’s not *THAT* awful but it is making the roads dangerous) and, if the sun comes back, maybe putting a trip to Costco in there. Oh, and Sunday Night will be spent wandering over to Mother Bird’s and having her make her beef roll-ups (potatoes, sweet potatoes, and *ONIONS*) and we’re going to talk a little bit about current events and spend the rest of the conversation strolling down memory lane.
And, all in all, it’ll be a good, if snowy, weekend draped in fuzzy clothing.
So… what’s on your docket?

Oh, Maribou and I usually have a Wednesday/Sunday night date where we watch an episode of something. We’ve watched Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Jack Reacher Seasons 1 & 2, and the Wheel of Time seasons.
Well, I was just informed of a Heinlein movie that is on the Netflix and *THAT* is now the next thing in the queue.

I’ve been snowed in at home since Tuesday, and I’ve chosen to burn through PTO rather than work from home because fish that (six day weekend!). I did manage to throw together a pretty sweet roast last night using just what I had in the freezer/kitchen/whatever so that was nice. The snow is supposed to stop today so we’ll see if I can get out. I might even be able to make it to gaming tomorrow night!Report
Here at the north end of the urban corridor, our snowfall for the week totaled “never stuck to the streets or sidewalks.” It’s warm and sunny this AM, and the last of the snow on the grassy areas is gone, even in the shade.Report
This is tonight’s song.
I thought it was from later! This came out when I was still in high school!
