Saturday Morning Gaming: It’s the Steam Summer Sale!
The first game was “Brotato“. Only 20% off but its original price was $5 so it’s only four bucks. Not bad.
It’s a single-stick game cashing in on the popularity of Vampire Survivors (itself on sale for 25% off… only $3.74!) and I’d say that the main difference between the two games is that Vampire Survivors is earnest in what it’s trying to be and Brotato is silly and goofy.
If you like single stick games, get Vampire Survivors. If you *REALLY* like single stick games get both.
Back in May, Reformed Republican said that he beat Dredge over a weekend and he described it as “a Lovecraftian fishing game”. Okay. Wishlisted. It’s on sale for 20% off! Okay. Purchased.
Buddy Simulator 1984 is a “psychological horror” game that mimics what an Apple IIe AI would do. The reviews call it “Analog Horror”. And it’s 60% off!
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove contains the five Shovel Knight games. The first Shovel Knight won a kabillion awards back in 2014 and made it onto a number of “best game ever” lists. Well, you can now get all five of them for 50% off!
And now to get back to playing.
So… What are you playing?

I bought 2 games from summer sale, The Last Express and The Last Campfire (and I just now realized the parallel in the names, though they are unrelated). Spent less than 6 bucks for the pair, but I haven’t started either yet.
I have mostly been playing Monster Hunter 4 Unlimited since I got back into it when we were out of power. I took a break from the High Rank single player stuff to finish up all of the Low Rank single player stuff. I am also trying to get through the Low Rank quests in the multiplayer hub, even though I am doing it all solo.
I also dip into Diablo IV a little bit here and there, but I am mostly waiting on Season 1 to start to really put more time into it.Report
I never did beat the Last Express. It was the best selling game among female gamers for a long time, though.Report
I never really played it, but I have an ex who loved it, and it seems like a neat game.Report
